Jim Blinn's Notation, Notation, Notation is one of the books I've been picking up lately when I find time to read. Reading Blinn is both enlightening and humbling; his mathematical expositions are extraordinarily lucid and insightful.
Like his previous two books, Notation, Notation, Notation is a collection of articles written for his column in IEEE Computer Graphics and Applications.
This edition contains a highly recommended 1996 article, Consider the Lowly 2x2 Matrix, and it offers many valuable and important insights into linear algebra in its consideration of 2x2 matrices. I wish I could have read this before I took linear algebra.
