Biology & Morality
The relationship between biology and morality is an area of personal interest. It seems it's impossible to discuss the subject without seeing the names of David Hume, Immanuel Kant and E.O. Wilson, and this NYT article reinforces the claim.
I'm neither a professional philosopher nor a biologist, but it does seem to me that discussions such as this often present a false dichotomy between emotion and reason.
Such analysis seems too simplistic, linear and blind to feedback loops. Emotion leads us to reason, the reasoning leads to new emotions, the new emotions lead to new reasoning and so on.
