Netflix $1,000,000 Programming Challenge

Here's a programming challenge I'd love to take a stab at. Netflix is offering $1M to anyone who can come up with a 10% improvement in their recommendation system. I don't feel I have enough free time to make a serious go of it, so chances are low I'll actually enter, but it's nonetheless very interesting to me.
